the princess bride is exactly what a dnd campaign would look like as a movie like? the delightfully weird cast of characters with their own quirks, the strange pacing and narrative that still Works, the absolute absurdity of it all, the jumping back and forth between wanting to be serious and it being really funny, hell its even Told like a dnd story through the use of the grandfather being the one telling the story

also like the character backstories are SUCH dnd backgrounds like? “im out for revenge for my father who was killed by a guy with six fingers on one of his hands” “i bumped into a band of pirates and their leader liked me so much he ended up having me take on his title to retire”

What if Amanda didn’t speak English. What if her native language was German or Italian or French. What if she taught some of it to Spock and Sarek and the rest of the family. What if Spock whipped out some surprise Hungarian on a trip back in time and everyone was like “whoa where’d you learn that, Spock?” and he’s like “It’s always best to be prepared” but it was actually his mom making sure he could communicate with his Earth family outside of Federation Standard. What if Uhura found out and was just so excited to stretch her linguistic muscles by having conversations with Spock in Ukranian or Dutch or whatever it is Amanda taught him. What if he swore in Swedish and was like “it’s an Ancient Vulcan saying” and Uhura’s in the back like “damn, kid, your mother taught you that?” What if he spoke Russian and he and Chekov could have conversations to help Chekov with his homesickness. being bisexual and having different feelings when ur attracted to guys than when u are to girls is so hard to explain bc being attracted to a guy is like “ah” and being attracted to a girl is like “oo” but that doesn’t make any sense to anyone but me

#this #it’s totally different #and one of the reasons i prefer to use bisexual not pansexual #because pan to me implies that gender isn’t relevant in attraction #and it is for me #it’s just not a limitation (via @defyaugury)

This is so me, and exactly the reason why I call myself bi, too. I’m not limiting myself to two genders, but I’m attracted to different genders in different ways. Of course, I deal with the added complexity of being on the ace spectrum, and so it’s more aesthetic and romantic attraction than sexual. Which is why I think it took me so long to realize I was bi, because I was just like “everyone is so beautiful and cool but I’m not sure I want to sleep with any of them?”

And this is a good way to shone why bi and pan are different. I don’t feel like this at all. Which is one reason why pan fits me.
