I’m like the luckiest girl in the world. I’ve gotten to be a princess, I’ve gotten to work with the Muppets. A lot of my childhood dreams about who I wanted to be when I was a grown-up, I at least get to play them in movies.
“Well, I always say I’m a pretty even mix, but I’m probably dominated by that,” she says, with one hand over her heart. “If you don’t come from a feeling place, you just end up with an enormous amount of technique. I have this,” she says, tapping her head again, “but that can be overruled. It fluctuates too. I have a strong sexuality. It’s a huge part of who I am and my existence.“

That’s one of my favorite things about doing this—you just meet the most fascinating people. You meet people who are interested in humanity. And the really good ones—the really good actors, the really good directors and writers—it’s beyond the plays and beyond the movie. It’s more about life and the way people think, the way people fall in love, the way they cope with the tragedy of death and knowing that they’re going to die.
